To calculate a TPM for the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) or TAKS–Modified
(TAKS–M), enter information below. The information you enter will be recorded under
the "TPM Navigator" area. When all entries are complete, the TPM information (projection
scale score, indication of whether a student is projected to meet the standard and/or
achieve Commended Performance, etc.) will be shown below. If you would like to calculate
another, click on the appropriate line under the "TPM Navigator" area.
Please note the changes in 2011-2012 TPM reporting:
- For the individual level reporting (i.e., Confidential Student Report and Confidential
Student Report-Texas Projection Measure (online)), the TPM projections will be reported
only at grade 10.
- The Texas Projection Measure summary reports are created only for grade
10.
These reporting changes were made because students in grades 3–9 in 2012 will transition
to the STAAR/STAAR Modified assessment programs. The student data files will include
the TPM information for students in grade 10. The Texas Projection Measure (TPM)
estimates whether a student is likely to meet the standard (pass) and/or achieve
Commended Performance on the TAKS or TAKS–M assessments at a future grade (grade
11). For TAKS, this measure is based on (1) the student’s current performance (and
previous year performance when possible) and (2) the previous year TAKS scores of
all students on the campus that the student attends. The measure for TAKS–M is based
on (1) the student’s current performance on TAKS–M (and previous year performance
when possible) and (2) the previous year TAKS–M scores of all students in the district
the student attends.
